During an NHS Band 1 check-up your dentist must:
- Carry out a full examination of your mouth, teeth and gums
- Give advice on your diet, smoking and drinking
- Ask how you clean your teeth and give you advice on the most appropriate ways to keep your mouth, teeth and gums healthy
- Check to see if you’re showing any signs of gum disease
- Carefully explain the risks of any future dental work you may need
- Also explain the costs of any future treatment
- Arrange your next visit
